Abstract

PURPOSE: An electric dust collector which can highly collect dust extensively with small chamber capacity by providing an insulated grid in the neighbourhood of a dust-collecting electrode and causing induced voltage when high AC voltage is applied to the dust-collecting electrode and a discharge electrode.
CONSTITUTION: A baffle dust collector 2 is provided with a discharge electrode 20 connected to an insulator chamber 10 by means of a suspension rod, the insulator chamber 10 being projecting from a casing 3. Further, there is provided a grid 40 in the state of suspension, the grid 40 being connected to insulator chambers 11, 12 by means of a suspension rod. When high AC voltage is applied to the discharge electrode 20, the grid 40 causes induced voltage to neutralize the generation of negative corona from the discharge electrode 20, whereby the generation of occurrence of reverse ionization can be prevented. According to the above constitution, refloating mist at the hammering time of the dust-collecting electrode of the electric precipitator 1, or re-floating mist of collected dust due to the increase in gas flow rate caused by rapid load change, can be collected effectively.
