Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the dust collecting effect by decreasing the distance between the follwing discharge with and auxiliary facing electrode at not more than 50mm in the charging part composed of the facing electrode, discharge wire and auxiliary facing electrode.
CONSTITUTION: Dust in dust containing air absorbed in the arrow mark direction, is charged during applying high voltage power source between plural pairs of the facing electrode 22 and the discharge wire 21 and irradiating the ion generated around the wire 21 toward the auxiliary facing electrode 23 in shower state and the dielectric provided in the rear, is absorbed by the filter 25. On this occasion, dimension of the distance Y between the wire 21 and the electrode 23, is made not more than 50mm. Dust collecting efficiency is decreased largely when the distance is exceeded not less than 50mm and high efficiency is able to obtain when the distance is made not more than 50mm, because the ion generated around the wire 21, is difficult to reach the electrode 23 when the above distance is exceeded not less than 50mm.
