Abstract

A bearing alloy consists of Al 30-66 per cent; Cu from 1/6 -\ba1/4 of the actual Al content; Zn the remainder. The preferred range is Al 30-66 per cent; Cu 5-11 per cent; Zn the remainder. Commercial purity Zn may be used, i.e. up to 1.5 Pb may be included. The formed bearing may be heat-treated to 80-280 DEG C. for at least 3 hours, preferably 24-48 hours.
