Abstract

To resist corrosion, or for soft soldering or plumbling purposes, aluminium and aluminium alloys are coated with an alloy consisting of Sn with 0-2 per cent. Ca and 0-5 per cent. Mg, the minimum content of Mg and/or Ca being .1 per cent. The alloy may also contain up to 70 per cent. Pb, up to one-fifth of which may be replaced by Zn, and not more than 5 per cent. in total of one or more of Cd, Na, Li or other alkali metal, Cu, Ag, Bi, Ce and misch-metal.
