725,335. Refrigerating. DOLDER, G. March 4, 1953 [March 6, 1952]. No. 6031/53. Class 29. In continuous-cycle inert gas absorption machines the gas-bubble pump 3 is arranged above the generator 2. The heating tube 1 may be heated by an electrical heating element or a flame e.g. a petrol burner and has mounted on its upper end a chimney 11 of heat insulating material. The annular boiler 2 connected to the heating tube 1 at both ends is connected by a pipe 8 with a stand-pipe 7 to the upper end of which rich solution is pumped by the gas bubble pump 3 through a riser pipe 6. Wash liquor passes from the bottom of the boiler through a pipe 9 to the outer tube 5 of a liquid heat exchanger coiled around the boiler. A capillary tube 10 projecting from the pipe 9 into the stand-pipe 7 equalises the pressure in the apparatus. The vapour from the boiler is rectified by passing through the rich liquor in the stand-pipe 7. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 545,457.
