178,412. Metzger, C., and Luetschen, E. April 13, 1921, [Convention date]. Instantaneous generators.-Water or other liquid is forced downwardly through a coil 4. Fig. 1, terminating in a nozzle 5, Fig. 2, and impinges upon a surface 2 highly heated by an oxy-hydrogen or other blow-pipe flame. The vapour generated passes at high velocity through constrictions 8 and is led bv tubes 6 into a collecting chamber 7. The burner is surrounded by a refractory mass 9. Air or oxygen for combustion is heated in a coiled tube around the burner.
