Abstract
720,627. Container closures. ROBSON, H. M. July 13, 1953 [July 14, 1952], No. 17711/52. Class 125 (3). [Also in Group XXII] A container has a neck 4 terminating in a rim 5 with flat flange 6 having recesses 7, and a lid 8 with an outer cylindrical flange 9 doubled back inwardly then turned inwardly on the inner face of the lid and finally turned down parallel with the cylindrical flange to form an inner ring flange 10 having projections 11 which can pass through recesses 7 and engage under flange 6 when the lid is rotated, a resilient sealing ring 12 being contained between the flanges. In a modification, the container has an outwardly turned flange and the outer lid flange has inwardly facing projections to engage the flange.
