719,973. Hand knitting devices. SOC. D'ETUDES ET D'APPLICATIONS MECANIQUES S.E.D.A.M. Aug. 6, 1952 [Oct. 24, 1951], No. 19832/52. Class 74 (2). A hand knitting device having a series of pegs 14 fixed in a bar 15 mounted on the front of the device and between which pegs hooks 6 are projected and withdrawn to produce a knitted article, has the bar 15 mounted on carriers 21 which are secured to arms 22 pivotably mounted at 23 so as to enable the position of the pegs to be varied with respect to the hooks 6, thereby effecting a variation in the size of the stitches. The bar 15 has studs 19 to enable it to be pivotably mounted in V-shape slots 20 in the carriers 21 and also to enable the bar to be turned upside down. The hooks are operated by a carriage reciprocated by moving a head 33 to which is attached a yarn carrier 39.
