Class 108(3) l In a dashpot of the kind comprising a liquid-filled cylinder 9 closed at each end by diaphragms 5, 5, and having a partition 10 defining chambers 16, 18, connected by a restricted passage, and through which passes a stem 19 rigidly connecting the diaphragms 5, 5, a, piston 12 is provided in each of the chambers 16, 18 between the partition 10 and the respective diaphragm 5. In the construction shown, the restricted passage is formed at 17 in the diaphragm 10. Thrust may be applied to the dashpot through a cap, and spring 2. The stem 19 may be arranged to operate the opening or closing of a valve.
