785,753. Temperature-responsive actuating-elements. IGRANIC ELECTRIC CO., Ltd. April 14, 1954 [April 17, 1953], No. 11004/54. Class 64(2) [Also in Groups XIX and XXXVII] An expansible capsule 28 which has oppositely movable faces or diaphragms is supported in the manner of a cantilever by a hollow stem 30 which extends laterally from the capsule, the passage within the stem communicating with the interior of the capsule. Each diaphragm is made in one piece with half of the stem. The stem has projecting ears by which it is fixed to a base 51. One wall of the capsule rests on a fixed base 50, and the other moves a switch member 54. The free end of the stem may be closed, as shown, or connected to a tube the free end of which is closed and coiled. The capsule may be filled with fluid by being placed before sealing, either wholly or with its unsealed portion at least in an atmosphere of the fluid at such a pressure and temperature that the required amount of fluid enters the capsule, which is then sealed in that atmosphere.
