Abstract

463,518. Valves. SAUNDERS, P. K. May 26, 1936, No. 14853. Addition to 463,340. [Class 135] A fluid-control valve comprises an axiallymovable piston valve member 16 which is connected with the casing 10 by a metal bellows 11 and which coacts both with a seating 15 in a cross-partition 14 and with an opening or openings 17 in a shielding cylinder 12, 13, integral with the casing and extending from the partition 14 to the casing proper, the opening 17 being uncovered only when the member 16 is some distance from the seat 15. The interior of the bellows is supported on a sleeve 20 secured to the member 16. As shown, the opening 17 is continuous, thus dividing the shielding cylinder into two parts which are interconnected by a rib 18.
