A mounting device for metal plates 2 on offset printing machines, in which the plate 2. is fixed to clamping strips 5, 6 and is displaceable on the plate cylinder 1 by shifting the strips 5, 6, is characterized in that each of the strips 5, 6 is mounted in a swivel bearing 9, 10 which is displaceable in the direction of the axis of the cylinder 1 and about which the corresponding clamping strip is rockable to a plane in which the clamping edge of the plate cylinder 1 is located. The clamping strips 5, 6 are slidingly supported on rails 7, 8 and are of angular shape. The swivel bearings 9, 10 comprise ball ends mounted on levers 11, 12 in turn mounted on sliding pieces 14, 16 by pins 13, 15. Levers 11, 12 are also provided with pins 17, 18 connected by spring 19. By tightening a screw 20 the levers 11, 12 are rotated about pins 13, 15 to clamp the plate 2. The sliding pieces 14, 16 are guided by pins and slots 21, 22 ... 24 and 26, 27 ... 29, and operated by eccentrics 25 and 30. The position of the swivel bearings 9, 10 is first set by the eccentrics 25 and 30 and the screw 20 is then tightened to clamp the plate.
