Abstract

717,601. Regenerative heat-exchangers. SVENSKA ROTOR MASKINER AKTIEBOLAG. Jan. 30, 1952, No. 2469/52. Class 64(1) A regenerative heat-exchange mass comprises spaced elements at least every other. of which is a slotted or perforated plate provided with means to maintain adjacent elements in spaced relation and to define lateral boundaries of a plurality of channels between adjacent elements, the slots or perforations in said plates being spaced apart in the direction of the lengths of the channels and being disposed in zones of the plates lying between adjacent spacing means, alternate elements in 'the mass each comprising either a plane or corrugated perforated or unperforated plate or wire netting (see Figs. 6 and 7 for example). The spacing elements may comprise deformations (e.g., 12 or 18) of the plates or alternatively welded-on wires and they may extend from one or both sides of the plates. The perforations or slots 6 may extend at right angles to or oblique to the direction ,of fluid flow through the channels in which latter case they may extend in a different direction to slots (Fig. 10) or corrugations (Fig. 6) in an adjacent plate.
