Abstract
1,109,697. Heat exchangers. DEAN PRODUCTS Inc. 5 July, 1965, No. 28410/65. Heading F4S. A heat exchanger panel comprises a pair of parallel spaced, planar, rectangular face plates 2, 3 having integrally formed therebetween a plurality of thin rectangular planar webs 4 parallel to each other and spaced apart so as to form a plurality of rectangular channels 5 interconnected by means of transversely aligned oval apertures 6 arranged towards one end of the panel. The apertures 6 extend longitudinally along the webs and number, in the centre web, half the total number of channels 5, their number progressively decreasing by one in adjacent outward webs. End plates 8, 9 close the opposite ends of the panel and inlet and outlet means (not shown) are fitted to either a face plate, 2, 3 or the end-plate 9, i.e the end remote from the apertures. The apertures may be bevelled (Figs. 6 and 7, not shown) to facilitate the flow of heat transfer fluid therethrough.
