Abstract
716,991. Jacquards. HARDAKER, Ltd., J. T. Feb. 10, 1953 [Feb. 19, 1952], No. 4369/52. Class 142(2) A double lift double cylinder jacquard having one set of needles controlled by two cylinders has means for positively returning the needles after operation by a cylinder. The jacquard horizontal needles 13 pass through a grid formed by bars 10 which are mounted in spaced relationship in a framework comprising end brackets 2 fixed to spindles 5 and reciprocated by a pivoted lever 19 bearing against a cam 21 on the main' shaft of the jacquard. Each needle 13 is formed with an eye 14 through which pass vertical pins 15 which also pass between the grid bars. After a needle has been displaced by a card in known manner, if the needle is not returned by the usual jacquard upright wire, the associated pin 15 will return it to its normal position due to its abutment against the end of the needle eye as the frame is reciprocated in synchronism with the cylinders.
