Abstract

Class 110(3) The casing and inlet pipe of a turbine, driven by high-pressure superheated steam, are cooled by steam taken from the steam producer, of the plant. After acting as a coolant, the lower-temperature steam is mixed with the working fluid in the turbine. A steam producer 1 has a generator 2 and a superheater 3 to supply high-pressure, hightemperature steam to the turbine shown. Steam, for cooling purposes, may be tapped at 13 and be led to spaces 6, 10, 5 of a double-walled pipe 4, 7 and 11. Half-tubes 8 may be arranged around the turbine casing and supplied with cooling steam through a pipe 14.
