Abstract
The invention comprises chlorinated phenthiazines of the formula <FORM:0716205/IV (b)/1> wherein the chlorine atom is in the 1- or 3-position and their preparation by heating a m-chloro-diphenylamine with sulphur preferably above 150 DEG C., e.g. at 180-190 DEG C., in the presence of iodine as a catalyst.
