Abstract

The invention comprises compounds of the general formula: <FORM:0853783/IV(b)/1> (wherein R is an alkyl radical substituted by at least two hydroxyl groups), and the preparation thereof by either reacting an w-chloroacetophenone with a 1-R-piperazine or reacting a 1-phenacyl-piperazine with an R-halide. 1-Phenacyl-piperazine dimaleate is made from maleic acid and 1-phenacyl-piperazine, which is made from phenacyl chloride and piperazine.
