Abstract

The invention comprises the compound of formula: <FORM:0942877/C2/1> and its acid addition salts; and its preparation by reacting thiaxanthone-9 with a grignard reagent of formula: <FORM:0942877/C2/2> wherein Hal represents chlorine, bromine or iodine, and hydrolysing the resulting reaction product. Grignard starting material is prepared in an example by reacting N-methyl-4-chloropiperidine with magnesium filings in tetrahydrofuran. Specification 829,764 also is referred to.
