Abstract
715,674. Electric condensers. DUBILIER CONDENSER CO. (1925), Ltd. Sept. 29, 1950, [Sept. 29, 1949], No. 25031/49. Addition to 657,358. Class 37. In the parent Specification, the terminal lead is inserted between adjacent surfaces of the foils protruding from the end of a rolled or stacked condenser, and compressive force is applied by welding electrodes to flatten the foils and weld them to the lead. In the present invention, the lead is provided with an opening or bulge so as to form a firm anchor. In Fig. i, the leads C are bent over to form a loop C1, and the foils E Fig. 3 are welded between the arms C, Ci, to make a firm anchor. The leads may have the forms shown in Figs. 5, 6 or 7, that in Fig. 7 being welded as in Fig. 8 so that the bulge J1 resists withdrawing movement of the lead. The leads C, C Fig. 4, may have resilient sleeves F, F, for embedding in the walls of the casing G. Alternatively, circular or flat bulges, Figs. 9, 10 may be formed in the leads for embedding in the casing walls to provide firm anchorage. Specification 705,472 also is referred to.
