Abstract

633,294. Condensers. METROPOLITANVICKERS ELECTRICAL CO., Ltd. Feb. 18, 1948, No. 4768. Convention date, Oct. 1, 1946. [Class 37] An electric capacitor in which each pole is formed of a set of interconnected conducting members of sheet or plate material comprises parallel members 1, 3, 5, 7, 9 and 11 forming one pole interleaved but separated from similar members 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 and 12 of the other pole. Protrusions 22 on the members clear and extend through apertures 21 in the adjacent member to engage the surface or corresponding hollows of the alternate member. A casing 13 of insulating material has recesses 24 in two of its parallel sides to accommodate members adjacent to the two end members. Where line or surface contact between protrusions and hollows of members is insufficient for the current rating of the capacitor, terminal extensions 16 and terminal bars 15, 18 may be provided.
