Abstract
680,432. Electric condensers. HUNT, Ltd., A. H., and McKAY, A. R. May 5,1950 [May 5, 1949], No. 12059/49. Classes 37 and 38 (i). The terminals of a spiral condenser for use with domestic power-consuming apparatus to suppress interference with radio receivers are formed by strips 15, 16 in contact with the electrodes 13, 14 and projecting from the roll at both ends. Two or more terminal strips may be associated with each electrode to give increased current - carrying capacity. Additional condensers with similar terminals may make use of the same dielectric sheets 11, 12. The condenser may have a case 18 of aluminium having its ends spun over a closure disc 20 and a base 21 carrying binding posts and the whole may be incorporated as shown in a socket for plugging on to an electric iron or on a fitting with connecting means at both ends for coupling two lengths of flexible wire. The terminal strips may be formed by flattening a portion of a length of round-section wire. In a further construction the casing is of insulating material and has feet for attachment to a panel. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 607,394.
