Abstract

250,735. Dubilier Condenser Co., Ltd., (Dubilier, W.). March 18, 1925. Condensers comprise an electrically conductive jacket and a conductive plate therein, the plate having a terminal extension projecting outside the jacket and the latter being recessed or cut away adjacent the extension. In Figs. 2 and 4, the body of conducting sheets 1, 2 and dielectric 3 is encased in a jacket 4 against which the sheets 1 are folded, while the sheets 2 are folded under a contact plate 5 separated from the jacket by insulation 6. The plate 5 and jacket have projections 7 apertured at 8 and provided with lateral fingers 9 serving as terminals, and the jacket is cut away at 10, 11 to prevent sparking. In a modification, the jacket is a flattened sleeve separated from the contact plates and terminals by insulation and cut-away at one end, but in a further modification one plate may be dispensed with and the sleeve may serve as the other terminal.
