Abstract

715,308. Rectifying. TESLA, NARODNI PODNIK. Dec. 29, 1952 [Dec. 29, 1951], No. 32827/52. Class 38(2) Rectifiers 3, 3<SP>1</SP>, 3" of the thyratron type are protected against overload, shortcircuit or backfire by the blocking of a valve 5 connected in series with rectifiers 4 and the main grid control transformers 2, 2<SP>1</SP>, 2" across a voltage source. The blocking voltage for valve 5 is derived through rectifiers 6 from current transformers 7 energized by the main current supplied to load 9. The phase of volts supply to the grids of rectifiers 3, 3<SP>1</SP>, 3" may be controlled by an induction regulator 1, or by controlling the phase of a tripled frequency supply to the grid of valve 5, Fig. 2 (not shown). A relay 11 may be used to operate an indicator of overload and to set induction regulator to the position of lowest output volts.
