Abstract

643,699. Automatic voltage control systems; rectifying. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES, Ltd. July 30, 1948, No. 20342. Convention date, Nov. 10, 1947. [Classes 38 (ii) and 38 (iv)] The voltage of the rectified E.H.T. output of an R.F. generator is maintained constant by control of a valve in series with the D.C. input to the oscillator. A portion of the output voltage tapped off potentiometer 3, 4 is fed back to the control grid of an amplifying valve 8, the output of which controls a parallel connected pair of valves 6, 6, through which the oscillator is supplied from a transformer and rectifier 2, 3. The tuned anode and tuned grid circuits of the oscillator valves 10 form part of a transformer 27 supplying voltage doubling rectifiers 28, 29. A portion of the input voltage supplied to the oscillator is fed back to the cathode of the amplifier 8 by a potential divider 12, 13 so as to increase the sensitivity of the regulator.
