695,808. Automatic voltage control. BRITISH UNITED SHOE MACHINERY CO., Ltd. Aug. 29, 1951 [Aug. 30, 1950], No. 21388/50. Addition to 595,140, [Group XI]. Class 38 (iv). [Also in Group XI] In an automatic voltage control of an oscillator in dielectric heating (see Group XI), the voltage between lines 204, 314 is held constant by automatically varying the negative grid bias of a full wave rectifier 200, 201. A 'portion of the output voltage is tapped off at 294 and applied to the grid 281 of a valve 280, which is thereby controlled and varies the drop in resistance 260 connected to a voltage regulator valve 299 and to an adjustable tapping 206 on a voltage divider between the terminals 250, 270 of an auxiliary power supply 251. If the voltage between the lines 204, 314 falls, the negative bias on the valve 280 also falls; and the subsequent increase in current through the resistor 260 decreases the negative grid bias of the rectifier 200, 201, thereby tending to increase the voltage between the lines 204, 314.
