Abstract

714,819. Posts. TICHAUER SOC. AR.L., M. Oct. 14, 1952 [Oct. 16, 1951], No. 25735/52. Class 20 (1). [Also in Group XXX] Means for erecting or dismantling a tower crane in sections comprises a slider moving over the tower and having an auxiliary jib rotatable about a horizontal axis for raising each section and placing it vertically upon the previous section. As shown in Fig. 2, a slider C is mounted to slide by suitable means on a tower section E' mounted on the ground. The slider has a jib F with a cable connected to a winch T. The section E' is engaged by the jib F and raised, the slider is then raised to align the sections and then lowered to allow securing the sections together. The slider is then operated to raise the next section. The jib F' and counterjib F<SP>2</SP> are secured to the head section which is raised similarly. If the jib moves vertically over the entire length of the tower the jib is secured to the slider which then forms the head of the tower. If the jib is rotatable and the tower stationary the slider comprises two sleeves with rollers or roller bearings between, the jib being secured to the outer sleeve to allow rotation but not relative vertical movement between the sleeve. To erect a skyscraper, Fig. 5, a tower crane is mounted in guides secured to the top of the uppermost section of the building and the crane is raised in steps by securing. the slide to the uppermost guide and exerting a downward pressure thereon.
