Abstract

713,961. Aerials. MINISTER OF SUPPLY. Sept. 24, 1952 [Oct. 2, 1951], No. 22978/51. Class 40 (7) A /8 unipole aerial 8 is spaced #/16 from a loop aerial 2 of circumference #/4 along the normal to the plane of the loop, the unipole being coupled by a single wire feeder 10 to one end 5' of the loop conductor and the directivity pattern in the plane perpendicular to the unipole being substantially a cardioid with its mu@ directed towards the unipole. The loop aerial preferably comprises a single circular loop of wire housed in and insulated from a tubular metal screen having a gap covered by an insulator, Fig. 1 (not shown), and the directivity may be increased by a director positioned on theside of the loop opposite to that of the unipole.
