Abstract

713,728. Spray producers. SOC. AIROFILTRE SOC. ANON. Nov. 20, 1952 [Nov. 21, 1951], No. 29302/52. Class 69 (3). [Also in Group XII] In an apparatus for removing dust from air or other gases (see Group XII) the gases are sprayed with water by means of a device a consisting of a hollow frame e which is positioned laterally across the gas conduit and which has a number of hollow fins G of streamline cross section extending from one side of the frame to the other. Each fin has a series of holes i provided on both sides at intervals along its length. Water at a low pressure is supplied to the frame through a pipe f and issues in the form of a spray through the holes i transversely into the gas stream which passes between the ribs with increased velocity due to the Venturilike section of the inter-rib passages. The gaswater mixture is then conducted to a cyclone separator C.
