Abstract

676,231. Centrifugal-separators. SIMONCARVES, Ltd. (Heinrich, O.). Aug. 8, 1950 [Aug. 8, 1949], No. 20546/49. Class 23 In dust separating apparatus comprising inclined tubular separators e and inclined dust collecting tubes c, each dust collecting tube collects particles from some of the separators and discharges it to a receiver. Gas in a duct a is led to the tubular separators which are removably fitted in guide tubes d passing through the dust collecting tubes c and further dust collecting tubes b adjacent the tubes b. Some of the dust separated in each separator enters a tube b by a slot g, and the remainder of the dust from each separator enters a tube c by a slot i. A guide body f having whirl producing vanes is placed in the upstream end of each separator, and a cleaned gas outlet h is fitted in the downstream end of each separator. The tubes b, c may be fitted with resiliently mounted or vibratory channels to facilitate the discharge of dust to the receivers. Gas from the tubes b, c may be pumped to the upstream end of the separators. In modifications the upstream ends of the guide bodies f are convex, and as shown in Fig. 5 the guide bodies may be slidabl,e on rods 4 which carry straightening vanes 5 for the cleaned gas in the outlet h. In a further modification one set of the tubes b, c and the guide tubes d are not fitted, the separator tubes discharging dust to the remaining collecting tubes through annular outlets having straightening vanes.
