713,677. Knitting-machines. LEBOCEY, B. Nov. 20. 1951 [Nov. 24, 1950; Nov. 3. 1951]. No. 27162/51. Drawings to Specification. Class 74 (2) A stop motion for a knitting-machine comprises a drop wire or feeler engaging a yarn which in the event of yarn failure causes an electromagnet to be energized thereby releasing a catch and effecting stoppage of the machine. The current needed for energizing the electromagnet is supplied through the anode circuit of a gas-filled thermionic valve, the grid of which is negatively biased under normal working conditions but which is earthed as soon as the drop wire or feeler operates, thereby producing an anode current which energizes the electromagnet.
