742,533. Knitting-machine stop-motions. PLANCK, A. Nov. 13, 1952 [July 8, 1952],. No. 28693/52. Class 74 (2). [Also in Group XXXVII] A stop-motion for a knitting-machine has a movable contact 11 of a switch, in a relay circuit effecting the stopping of the machine, held in a position in which the machine can operate when a thread supports a stop-motion wire 1. If the relay circuit is open for normal working, a contact spring 12 is provided, contact 11 bearing against spring 12 to close the circuit if the thread slackens or breaks. To render the stop-motion inoperative, contact 11 may be forced past spring 12 to a position where the stop-motion wire 1 hangs down loosely. If the relay circuit is closed for normal working, a dead contact acting as a yieldable stop for contact 11 is used in place of spring 12.
