Abstract
817,190. Stop-mechanism for textile machines. SCHLUMBERGER & CIE., N. June 19, 1957 [Dec. 4, 1956], No. 19277/57. Class 120(2) In textile machinery working filaments of low strength such as sliver of the type in which the filament passes in a number of elongated turns around a guide 4, a mechanism is provided in which a pivoted movable part 10 is held near or against the guide by the filament, means being provided for urging the part 10 away from the guide so that when the filament breaks, the part is released to actuate an electric stop-mechanism. The part 10 may be of stainless steel and has a heel 12 which when the part falls contacts a bar 14 to complete the circuit of the stop mechanism. To render such devices inoperative e.g. when only a few filaments are being worked, a plate 18 is hinged by an elongated member 19 to the pivot of the part 10. Normally it occupies the position shown, the bar 14 being insulated in its vicinty, but it can be moved to a position in which the part 19 engages a bar 7 and locks the part 10 in its inoperative position.
