Abstract

1,253,288. Pile fabrics. DELETEX P.V.B.A. 28 April, 1969 [6 Jan., 1969; 5 March, 1969], No. 21452/69. Heading D1K. A cam operated mechanism for embedding corrugations of pile yarn into two separate backings, the pile subsequently being cut to produce two pile fabrics, is so arranged that one pile embedding blade 2 is retained in its embedding position whilst the other blade 1 forms the next corrugation, the blade 2 is then withdrawn and the blade 1 moves in an arcuate path about the embedding point of the blade 2 so as not to disturb the embedding during the embedding of its own corrugation. The Specification says that the mechanism may be operated by jacks or electromagnets and the pile yarns pass through a comb 41 which is reciprocated transversely of the fabrics to stagger the "warp wise" rows of tufts.
