Abstract

An electrode element for a vacuum tube is made from cobalt or nickel containing a trace to less than 0.2 per cent. of each of Ce and La or containing, when the element has an active oxide coating, a trace to less than 0.2 per cent. of each of one or more of the rare earth metals. 1-10lbs. of misch metal may be added to a melt of 1,300lbs. of nickel or cobalt of high purity Iron may be present as an impurity to the extent of 0.20 per cent.
