Abstract
712,492. Linkwork for conveying rotary motion. HARRISON, G., and THRISSELL ENGINEERING CO., Ltd. Aug. 13, 1952 [Aug. 14, 1951], No. 19141/51. Class 80 (3) [Also in Group XVI] Cylinder driving mechanism. A driving device for a printing cylinder of the kind allowing angular adjustment thereof comprses a driving gear 12 mounted on a shaft 5 co-axial with the cylinder 1, three equally spaced pins 13 secured to the face of the gear 12 being connected by links 14 to pins 15 secured to the face of an eccentric transmission disc 16. A gear wheel 17 carried on the disc 16 meshes with internal teeth on a ring gear 4 secured to the driven member 3 on the cylinder shaft 2. The eccentric disc 6 is carried on a spindle 8 housed in an eccentric bore 7 in the shaft 5. A worm gear 9 secured to the shaft 5 is rotatable by a manually operated worm 10 mounted on brackets 11 on a bearing 6 to move the spindle 8 and disc 16 in a circular path about the cylinder axis, this movement being allowed by the links whose length is equal to the eccentricity. Rotational displacement of the shaft 5 thereby causes angular adjustment of the driven member 3 relative to the driving gear 12.
