Class 80(4) [Also in Group I] A vibrating land roller towed by a tractor is provided with a. pair of vibrating devices each comprising a circular track 25 provided with a groove 28 of progressively decreasing depth towards its sides and a ball 27 arranged to roll in the groove and actuated by a driver 29 mounted on a common shaft 12, the driver guiding the ball resiliently in the axial direction of the roller track by means of leaf springs 32. As shown, the roller body is rotatably mounted on eccentric parts 12<SP>1</SP> of the shaft 12 the axes of which parts are displaced in relation to the axis of the shaft 12 in a direction diametrically opposite to that of the ball 27 so that the shaft 12 is substantially unaffected by the vibrations. The ball is held in position by means of a ring 30 attached to the leaf springs 32. The shaft 12 is driven through V-belts by a motor mounted on a frame 1.
