A universal joint that permits slight angular movement of a printing cylinder shaft 1 relative to a driving gear 6 which is freely rotatably mounted on a fixed sleeve 3 comprises an intermediate shaft 12 having crowned teeth 13, 14 engaging teeth 9 on a sleeve 8 fast with the shaft 1 and teeth 11 on a ring 10 fast with the gear.
