Abstract

711,035. Extensible ladders. KLOCKNERHUMBOLDT-DEUTZ AKT.- GES. Aug. 1, 1950 [Aug. 19, 1949], No. 19219/50. Class 20 (2) The metal side members of an extensible ladder are of inverted T-section having a channelled or dished horizontal bottom flange 1, Fig. 1, the outer side wall 3 of which merges through an inwardly directed upper flange 4 into a vertical web 5, while the inner side wall 2 of the bottom flange 1 is bent sideways to form a flange 2a upon which the ends of the ladder rungs are seated and welded thereto. The ends of the rungs 10 may extend to the side wall 3 and be welded thereto and to the flange 4 or they may be welded to the web 5, Fig. 2. The upper end of the web 5, Fig. 1, is bent outwards to form a bearing surface for guide rollers 7 carried by a bracket 16 on the upper ladder. Supporting rollers 17, Fig. 2, are also provided on the lower ladder. Specification 635,225 is referred to.
