Abstract

709,290. Contact members for switches. SANTON, Ltd. Dec. 16, 1952 [Sept. 17, 1951], No. 21735/51. Class 38(5) A moving contact assembly for a rotary switch comprises one or more contacts 7 having a lug 8 at its inner end which receives a loop 6 of stranded wire to which the contacts are soldered or brazed. The contacts 7 and loop 6 are loosely retained in recesses 11 formed in opposed faces of a pair of insulating housings 10 clamped together on the switch spindle 14, the arrangement permitting selfalignment of the contacts. The housings have an interfitting extension 12 and annular recess 13, and between the housings 10 arcuate arc shields 18 are secured by pins 19. A number of such assemblies may be built up on the spindle 14.
