Abstract
708,843. Machines with permanent magnets. SOC. D'ETUDES ET DE RECHERCHES DES APPLICATIONS MECANIQUES ET'ELECTRIQUES. Sept. 19, 1951, No. 22006/51. Addition to 663,571. Class 35 A hub dynamo of the type defined in the parent Specification has the magnet in a casing j<SP>2</SP> which is adapted to be connected to the hub a with which it is operatively rotated. The hub a is carried by a ball bearing c the inner race d of which serves as a transverse abutment for support f of another ball bearing g carrying the casing j<SP>2</SP>. The whole inner race of ball bearing g comprises an outer race h and two inner halve races k, Fig. 1 (not shown), f<SP>2</SP>. The dynamo is so arranged as to form an independent unit which can be secured over the inner half race support f inside the hub a. The unit may be removed by unscrewing the fastening nut r. The magnet rotor m is rotated about its ball bearing g by the hub a through a blade spring p pivoted at q on the hub flange a<SP>1</SP> and arranged to engage, when required, a knob t fixed on a fluid-tight flange n rigid with the. magnet. The fixed armature. o is made in two parts and is of the imbricated pole type. The rotor flange n has annular grooves n' forming baffles to register with outer grooves l<SP>1</SP> in the armature carrier l to prevent entry of water. The dynamo could charge a battery through a rectifier.
