Abstract
912,576. Positive clutches. ZAHNBADFABRIK FRIEDRICHSHAFEN A.G. Nov. 8, 1960 [Nov. 11, 1959], No. 38393/60. Class 80 (2). In an electromagnetic positive clutch a stationary magnet member 1, 2, 3 is mounted on a hub sleeve 4 fixed to the driving-shaft 7 and carrying a roller bearing 5, the end of the sleeve adjacent the armature disc 10 having facial teeth 4a engageable with similar teeth 9a on the end of the driven sleeve 9. The armature disc 10 is secured by spring-loaded pins 12 to half-rings 11a, 11b carried by sleeve 9, and to the magnet member by bolts 16 between which are placed release springs 10. A conducting disc is formed from magnetic outer and inner rings 3a, 3c and a non-magnetic intermediate ring 3b, an air gap being formed between the pole member 1 and ring 3c, the gap being of stepped form as shown, or alternatively of conical form.
