Class 68(1) A marker buoy comprises a pair of floats 1 held apart by a housing rigidly secured to each float and supporting a lamp pole 7 and a keel pole 9. Each float is formed of a number of watertight compartments 1a and the housing consists of an upper and a lower unit 2, 3 secured at 2a and 3a respectively to the floats 1. Mounted on the lamp pole 7, which either tapers from the root or includes a number of stepped portions 7a reducing in diameter from the root to the top, are two or more lamps 8 that are preferably electrically operated from a battery mounted in the unit 2.
