Abstract
707,685. Undergarments. WOLSEY, Ltd., MOORE, W. H., and LOMAX, W. Oct. 23, 1952 [Jan. 10, 1952], No. 840/52. Class 141 Pants comprising a back 1 and a composite front connected by side seams 3, 4 and a transverse seam 22 between oblique leg openings, together with a waistband 2 and leg bands 5, 6, are characterized in that the front includes two parts, the inner edge 13 of one front part 7 extending obliquely from the waistband 2 at one side of the centre front thereof to the opposite leg band 6 and the inner edge 14 of the other front part 8 having a re-entrant angle 15 and being stitched in the upper part to the oblique edge 13 and in the lower part diverging freely therefrom to the other leg band 5 to form the fly opening. Reinforcing strips 23, 24 may be provided, the strip 23 covering and securing the overlapping edges 13, 14 of the parts 7, 8 from the waistband 2 to the re-entrant 15 and being stitched only to the part 8 and the leg band 6 below the re-entrant whilst the strip 24 is stitched only to the part 8 and the waistband 2 above the re-entrant 15 and overlies the edge 14 from the re-entrant to the leg band 5. The fly opening is under the lower half of the strip 24, a tunnel being formed between the parts 7, 8 with the entry at the lower part of the oblique edge 13.
