Abstract

1,009,770. Skirts. PETER ROTAS (WHOLESALE COUTURE) Ltd. Oct. 8, 1964 [June 9, 1964], No. 23895/64. Heading A3V. A garment is divided into the front to provide leg portions which are joined together and connected to the back at or near the waist. A skirt is made in two halves shaped as shown in Fig. 1. The halves are joined along the edges 11 to form the back seam along the edges 17 to form the crotch, the parts 18 are joined to the centre rear part of the waistband and the lines 20 are joined to unite the leg parts. A fly edge 13 is doubled over and sewn to form a placket to cover a sliding clasp fastener or the fly may be closed by buttons. Alternatively the skirt may have an opening at the back or side. The back seam may be omitted if wide material is used. The skirt has the appearance of having a central inverted unpressed pleat.
