Abstract
501,055. Trousers. SOLOMONS, S. Aug. 16, 1937, No. 22507. [Class 141] Trousers are provided with a fly opening 4, and with side openings 7 extending downwardly from the upper edge of the waistband, tongue pieces 19 at the ends of the front waistband section 15 being adapted to enter a tunnel 20 extending throughout the length of the rear waistband section 17, and to be connected to the ends of an elastic band 22 secured at 23 to the rear waistband section, and lap pieces 25 secured to the inner side of the rear body portion 3 being adapted to overlie the side openings 7, the lap pieces having adjustably secured thereto tongue pieces 28 which are adapted to enter a tunnel 30 in each portion of the front waistband section 15, and to be connected to an elastic band 31 secured to each front waistband portion adjacent the flyopening. The trousers are also provided with side pockets 10 which are associated only with the front body portion of the trousers. In a modification, the openings to the side pockets are disposed obliquely to the respective side seams of the trousers. In another modification, the side pockets are replaced by one or two front pockets. In a further modification, the lower edge of the front waistband section is left unstitched at each outer end thereof to enable the lap pieces to slide within the waistband section.
