Abstract
702,353. Jigging conveyers. FORGROVE MACHINERY CO., Ltd., and BROOK, L. Aug. 6, 1952 [Aug. 28, 1951], No. 20258/51. Class 78 (1) [Also in Group XVII] In a-feeding and assembly apparatus for a wrapping machine comprising a table 26, Fig. 2, on which circular tablets, lozenges or the like are laid flat, a number of guides 35 leading from the table 26 to an intermittently moving chain conveyer 10, plough blades 36 in the guides for turning the articles on edge as they travel along the guides, and a gate 40, Fig. 1, for controlling the flow of articles from the guides to the conveyer pockets 38, the guides and table are disposed horizontally, or nearly so, at approximately the level of the upper flight of the conveyer 10'and supported on links or springs 17, 18, 22, 23 inclined to the vertical and a vibrator 45 is provided to impart a pitching movement to the table and guides. The conveyer pockets 38 are arranged to assemble the articles in horizontally disposed cylindrical stacks or rolls preparatory to wrapping. A plate 27 at the edge of the table 26 adjoining the guides 35 is reciprocated in a direction transverse thereto and assists the tablets to enter the guides without jamming.
