Abstract

1,268,623. Feeding and delivering sheets. G. T. COKE. 12 June, 1969 [12 June, 1968], No. 27966/68. Heading B8R. Feeding sheets.-Sheets are separated from a pile 40 by a conveyer 13 comprising a plurality of imperforate endless belts 32 trained around suction box 20 provided at its lower surface with a multiplicity of suction nozzles positioned between the lower runs of adjacent belts. Suction is applied to box 20 by a fan 12 through ducts 21 and 22. The pile is raised on an hydraulically operated scissors lift 41 and intermittently lowered to permit forwarding of a gripped sheet. Delivering sheets.-A conveyer similar to that described above, comprising belts 51 co-operating with suction box 50, is used to carry sheets to a position above a stack, whereupon the suction is cut off by butterfly valves 60 to deposit the sheets. The receiver may comprise a scissors arrangement similar to arrangement 41.
