Abstract

1,210,455. Delivering sheets. SWIFT & CO. 22 July, 1968 [11 Sept., 1967], No. 34885/68. Addition to 1,082,170. Heading B8R. A stacking apparatus for hides and the like of the type described in U.K. Specification 1,082,170 (Heading B8R) wherein there are provided at the terminal end of conveyer 17<SP>1</SP> means 135 to urge a leading portion of a hide passing from the end of the conveyer towards the near side of horse 10<SP>1</SP> and means 41<SP>1</SP> to urge the trailing portion of the hide across the far side of the horse. The means 135 and 41<SP>1</SP> may provide air jets to cause the required deflections. A retaining member 138 is operable to press on the leading portion of the hide to hold it in place on the stack whilst the trailing portion is deposited on the far side of the horse.
