Abstract

702,236. Coupling agricultural tools to tractors. HILL, T. A., and BARFORD (AGRICULTURAL), Ltd. Jan. 21, 1952 [Sept. 17, 1951], No. 21762/51. Classes 6 (1) and 6 (3) Relates to means, of the kind described in Specification 578,529, for detachably fastening agricultural implements to a tractor frame. According to the present invention, a forked extension 7 of the implement frame 5 has slots 8 engaging over the ends of a transverse shaft 30 joining the longitudinal frame members 1 of the tractor. The extension 7 is movable on the shaft 30 as fulcrum to abut against the underside of the frame members 1, and a central screw 9 on the tractor frame serves to fasten the implement. The invention is shown applied to fastening the frame 5 of a small grass mowing machine to the front of a tractor steered by handle bars (not shown). The crank and connecting rod drive for the cutter bar is effected by a belt passing over a power take-off pulley 13 on the tractor and a pulley 14 on crank shaft 15.
